CYO

SCJN CYO promotes sportsmanship, teamwork and a positive self image for all of the children in the St. John Neumann and St. Colman parishes and the entire Ss. Colman-John Neumann School.

Each year, SCJN CYO provides over 300 parish and school children with the opportunity to participate in various sports.

Fall Sports

• Soccer - Coed (Grades 5-8)
• Field Hockey - Girls (Grades 5-8)
• Volleyball - Girls (Grade 5-8)
• Cross Country - Girls and Boys (Grades 1-8)
• Football - Boys (Grades 5-8) (in partnership with the St. Denis Bulldawgs football program)
• Flag Football - Coed (Grades 1-4) - not an official Archdiocesan CYO sport but SCJN kids can join the Bulldawgs football program

Winter Sports

• Basketball - Girls and Boys (Grades 5-12)

Note: Basketball teams for Grades 1-4 are typically organized by parents/coaches and the teams participate in leagues such as We Not Me and Malvern League. The SCJN CYO Program works to provide gym time for practices for the younger grades.

Spring Sports

• Track and Field - Girls and Boys (Grades 4-8 and 3rd graders who are 9 as of December 31st of their 3rd grade year)
• Baseball - Boys (Grades 5-8)
• Volleyball - Coed (Grades 9-12)
• Softball - Girls (Grades 5-8) (in partnership with neighboring parishes)
• Lacrosse - Girls (Grades 5-8) - not an official Archdiocesan CYO sport but SCJN competes against other area Catholic schools.
• Pee Wee Track - Girls and Boys (Grades 1-3) - Informal Track Meets are held for the younger students before the CYO meets.

SCJN CYO also hosts the Saints' Stomp 5k and Fun Run in the fall and a spring fundraiser. These fundraisers help to keep registration costs low, purchase new sports' equipment for our teams and playground equipment for our school, and rent gym space for all of our student-athletes to compete and practice. Our student athletes also participate in an annual community service event.
