Student Council |
The council is made up of members of the eighth grade class and a representative from each grade room and is moderated by two teachers and the principal. The council sponsors a variety of activities throughout the year, such as prayer partner activities, a fall art action featuring student work, a January calendar raffle, candy grams in February, an Easter egg hunt for kindergarten and first grade, and an "afternoon at the movies" in June. |
Social Justice |
The Social Justice Committee of Ss. Colman-John Neumann School is composed of faculty members, students, and parents. The committee was formed to help the school community become aware of our responsibility as Christians to enact the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. The primary work of the committee is the care of four children: Fany Yesenia Orellana Sanchez of Honduras, Susanta Kalindi of India, Beatrice Simumbe of Zambia, and a student at Sacred Heart School in Camden. The school also sponsors a Salesian sister from New Jersey. Monthly fundraisers hosted by the various grades underwrite the cost of this care. Altar Servers |
As altar servers the children have the opportunity to participate in religious ceremonies and celebrations in a special way. |

Book Fair |
The book fair offers the children an opportunity to purchase books while helping to support the school library. |
Catholic Schools Week |
An annual event to celebrate Catholic Schools, while giving recognition to benefactors, parents, staff, and students. |
Christmas Pageant |
An all school production which gives the children an opportunity to experience the working of stage productions. |
Competitions |
Art, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies departments periodically compete with other schools for the academic challenge and social benefits. |
Girl Scouts |
The Girl Scouts provide an active source for encouraging good citizenship. |
School Choir |
A choir composed of students in grades six through eight that leads the singing during liturgies and prayer services. |
School Theater Production |
An annual production offering those students interested in theater a more intense experience. |
Yearbook |
The school yearbook gives the children on the staff the opportunity to create a special type of literary work. |
