Please check out the Partners in Faith July and August calendars included in today’s communication envelope.  They offer many wonderful suggestions for keeping your family close to family, God and church during the summer months.

SUMMER SCRIP: Even though it's time to put away the pencils and books, and summer vacations are about to begin, the SCJN Scrip Program runs year round.  Please lend your support to this program by using scrip to pay for your grocery purchases during the summer months.  You can also start earning credit toward next year's minimum purchase requirement as any scrip purchased after June 30 will count toward the 2010/2011 school year. Please take a moment to look at the attached flyer to see where scrip can be purchased during the summer.  Questions about the program should be directed to Marianne King (610-649-6315, scjnscrip@verizon.net).

RESULTS OF SCRIP SURVEY: Thank you so much to those families who took the time to respond to the scrip survey.  If you are interested in the results, they are included in this week’s Communication Envelope.  Fifty families returned the survey, and based on their responses we will be trying to implement some changes next year. Some of the changes suggested will require Father McKeaney’s approval, and they will be shared with him.  One suggestion made was to maintain a larger variety of cards in inventory.  There have been times in the past when we offered a more diverse inventory.  The problem that would occur, however, would be that they would often not sell well and then money that could have been used to purchase grocery scrip was tied up in inventory that would sit there for months at a time.  No one card was requested on the survey by an overwhelming majority, so if after looking at your spending habits, there are cards that you think you would be willing to purchase on a fairly regular basis, please let us know.  Knowing approximately how much and how often families would be interested in purchasing other gift cards would help us to determine the kind and amounts of additional cards to stock.  Please forward your requests for additional cards at any time to Marianne King (scjnscrip@verizon.net) or Barbara Rake (brake@swaintours.com).  We hope to be able to offer an expanded inventory on a trial basis during the next school year.  Thanks again to those families who responded to the survey.  If you have any additional comments or suggestion, please feel free to share them with us at any time.

The SCJN cookbooks have arrived!  The hardback cookbook has over 120 recipes from school families as well as parishioners.  The books cost $20.  An order form is attached to the newsletter. Please return to Christine Boyle.
